Yavapai Point, Grand Canyon National Park, AZ, 12/13/2009
Late in my first afternoon photographing the Grand Canyon, an early winter snowstorm ended and the sun came out. I made a photograph of the canyon by the El Tovar Hotel, and then worked on some fresh snow forest scenes away from the canyon rim. I should have remained by the canyon edge! When I finally noticed how pretty the sunset was becoming, I rushed over to Yavapai Point just in time to capture this tail end distant glimpse of what had been an astounding display of sunset light on the lingering snowstorm clouds.
