Yerba Buena Trail, Joseph D. Grant County Park, Santa Clara County, CA, 3/7/2010
On the way in to Joseph D. Grant County Park this afternoon in March, the sky was filled with beautiful clouds that I hoped to put in some photographs. But when I reached the park, I was met with complete cloud cover and a touch of fog throughout Halls Valley. This often happens here, as low-lying clouds accumulate west of the Diablo Range in general, and Mt. Hamilton in particular. Despite the gray sky, I proceeded because the air was still and the lighting was even, and these conditions make photography easy while bringing out the colors. As I walked past this group of bare trees, I was taken by the view through them to the distant foggy hills. The 9,560 acre Joseph D. Grant County Park is located in Halls Valley, just east of San Jose, CA.
