Old Oak, Late Afternoon

Washburn Trail, Joseph D. Grant County Park, Santa Clara County, CA, 3/26/2015

A simple study of a favorite old oak tree juxtaposed with distant hills in late afternoon. In early spring, the coastal foothills of California are lush and green, but by summer they become dry and brown. This particular year was part of a prolonged western drought, so the abundance of beautiful green grass was a welcome sight. Joseph D. Grant County Park is located in Halls Valley, east of San Jose, CA.
